The Three Pagodas of Chongshen Monastery is located 1.5 kilometers to the north of the ancient city of Dali, with Yingle Peak of Cangshan Mountain on the west and facing the miles green waves of Erhai Lake on the east.
Located about 24 kilometers from Old Town of Dali, lies the famed Butterfly Spring which covers an area of nearly 1131 square meters. It used to be named as Bottomless Pond on the first place.
The Dali Ancient City is one of the 24 Historical and Cultural Cities of China which was first proclaimed by the State Council on February 1982 as well as within the national 44 famous sceneries throughout the nation.
As one of the nine fresh water lakes on the plateau on the altitude of over 1970 meters, Erhai Lake has covered an area of 251 square kilometers with deepest point of 20.7 meters.
Cangshan Mountain is well known for its dark green body with snow white peak. The mountain has stretched over 50 kilometers and consists of 19 lofty peaks. The average altitude of the peaks is about 4000 meters with snow on the summits.
Yangren Street or literally means Foreigner Street is a business street of Dali at about 300 meters length. Since 1984 when Dali was listed as a city which open to foreign visitors, many shops and stores that targeted the foreign tourists as their major customers have been founded along the street.
