|Jinmao Tower with the height of 420.4 meters is currently the second highest skyscraper of Shanghai (until August 2008), the third highest throughout China and the eighth around the world. The tower is located at Lujiazui Financial District of Shanghai Pudong Area and peacefully lies by Huangpu River.
Jinmao Tower is an 88-storey building including three basement floor and covers 23611 square meters of land surface. It used to be the highest skyscrapers of Shanghai but its record had been surpassed by Shanghai World Financial Center which is next to the building in August 29, 2008. Jinmao Tower is a multipurpose building architecture that can be used for offices, businesses, hotel apartments as well as conferences. From third level until the fiftieth floor of the building can accommodate over 10000 staffs to work on the same time in a bright space without any pillars or columns. On the other hand, the 51st and 52nd floors are specialized for electrical facilities and equipments which necessary for the proper operation of the whole building.
The 5-star Jinmao Grand Hyatt Hotel which is well known as the highest hotels from the ground level has occupied the 53rd to 87th floor of Jinmao Tower offering a total of 555 rooms to its valued guests. The barrel-vaulted atrium of the Hyatt Hotels which attracts the eyes of the global is started at the 56th floor and extends upwards to the 87th floor. The huge atrium, in 27 meters of diameter with a clear height of approximately 115 meters, is lined with 28 annular corridors and staircases that arrayed in a spiral. It is one of the tallest atrium in the world; the tallest one would be the atrium at Burj Al Arab.
