Changsha-Water-Dripping-Cave
Introduction

The Water Dripping Cave sits in the valley west of Bronze Statue of Mao Zedong. The cave is full of bamboos, wild grasses, and birds. All these make the natural scene be tranquil and elegant.

In June 1959, When Mao Zedong came back to home after 32 years. He visited Water Dripping Cave and bathed in the reservoir which was at the entrance of the cave. He was so excited that said to the officer of Hunan Province that he wanted to live here when he was old. Hence in 1960, a villa was started to be established. The style was similar to that of Zhongnanhai. In 1966, he inspected Shaoshan and stayed for 11 days in the villa. Later in a letter he wrote, he called this place "a cave in the west". Seldom knew this cave and villa because of the secret management until it was open to public in 1986.

After ten years' protection and reconstruction, the Water Dripping Cave has become the most attracted tourist destination in Shaoshan. The Scenic Area consists of three main parts: the villa, Huxieping, and Dragon Hill.
