New Challenge for Hainan Tourism

Every National Holiday is the traditional booming time for Chinese touring cities, especially for Hainan, which is a tourism-oriented province in China. After this Spring Festival’s overcharging report in Sanya, many tourists doubt whether Hainan is ready to for the coming long holiday.


To ensure a comfortable touring environment, Mr. Jiang Dingzhi—the governor of Hainan province, asked all the scenic spots to do the following 4 points for tourists: guaranteeing personal safety, lowering the prices, preparing the best services and offering the premium touring products.

The officials from Bureau of Commodity Price in Hainan Province announced that they were working on the food pricing standards for touring groups. Also they planned to lower the fare for several scenic spots by around 8%.

From this Jan. to July, Hainan has received over 18 million visitors, which is 7.7% up, compared with the same period last year. The number of overnight inbound tourists is 460,000, which is 5.7% up, compared with the same period last year.
