The Second Longest Holiday in China Coming

Happy Mid-autumn and National Holiday!

Yesterday, the Beijing governmental office published the details of 2012 Mid-Autumn and National Holiday.

Starting from Sep. 30 to Oct. 7 will be the long holiday. Sep. 30 will be the date of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. The Saturday of Sep. 29 will be a working day.

This arrangement will bring forth the second longest national holiday after 1999. The first 8-day national holiday dated back to 2009.

The long holiday is the booming time for domestic travel. For self-driving tourists, good news is that many expressways will be free of charge. So far the rules of expressway charging during the holiday in provinces like Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Sichuan and Jiangsu have been enacted. Drivers can refer to the rules before making your trip schedules.

Wish all of you a safe and happy holiday!
